European Qualifications Framework (EQF)

The European Qualifications Framework (EQF) helps you understand qualifications levels abroad.

It aims to relate different countries' national qualifications systems to a common European reference framework, making national qualifications more readable across Europe.

What it can do for learners, workers and jobseekers

Compare your qualifications with those at the same level in another country. Go to the EQF website and start by selecting your own national framework.

What it can do for employers, and college & university admissions staff

Find out how the qualifications of an applicant compares to a UK qualification using the EQF website.

What it can do for careers advisors

  • The EQF helps you to explain UK qualifications and levels to clients from other countries.
  • It gives clients with UK qualifications an understanding of the types of jobs or courses they may be eligible to apply for abroad.
